I remember the first time I started One Munching Momma. It was about ten years ago, when I was homeschooling my eight year-old son and seven year-old daughter, living on twenty-one acres of land. We had lots of fun on those acres-climbing the steep hills and discovering animal tracks, sledding in snow, doing school outside, adventures with Buddy the dog, and making yummy vegetarian dishes. Sadly, I felt like life was too busy and I closed down One Munching Momma.
But life changes. My son is now eighteen; my daughter is right behind him at the age of seventeen. Instead of twenty-one acres of wooded land, we now live on half an acre in a cute, tiny cottage-style home that I bought almost three years ago, shortly after the divorce. Many times, I find myself reminiscing back to the days in the woods, to when the kids were little but, quite honestly, I’m grateful for now.
Now I see the results of the time and energy invested as I watch the kids spread their wings and making good choices.
Now is filled with cozy evenings sharing about our day and a meal.
Now is filled with two cats who keep us entertained.
Now I have a man in my life who is my best friend.
Now I’m looking at my life and seeing the possibilities of what the rest of my life could look like.
And now, I am reopening One Munching Momma. While it will be different as a result of the differences in this phase of my life, in many ways it will be the same-vegetarian recipes, humorous stories about every day life, thoughts about life and everything in-between.
I’m excited about now, even as I recall then and I look forward to sharing the old with the new.
Awesome to see you back out in the blogging world!
Looking forward to your journey!
Blessings!
